The Brooklyn Knit and Crochet Guild isa community of fiber crafters throughout the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Through paid membership, the Guild offers members access to classes and events such as stash swaps, an annual luncheon, and charity projects. The Guild also hosts an annual World Wide Knit in Public Day event to teach others about all needlecrafting.
This is a group designed to get knitters and crocheters together at least once during the month and share our projects and skill set. Beginner and Advanced needle workers are welcome. I am pretty good at crocheting and welcome anyone who wants to help with the knitting aspect of the group.
I've been inspired by "Knitting for Peace" by Betty Christiansen, subtitled "Make the Word a Better Place, One Stitch at a Time." Some possible projects: Chemo Caps, Prayer Shawls, Security Blankets.
